We're at the Science Library @ MOSI, and after an eventful time getting here, we finally made it to class to set this thing up. While I'm on about events, I may as well explain what happened. The girls and I packed up the cart with all the stuff we'd need for the day: lunches, books, rain gear, Mother's Day cards we have yet to mail, etc. We made room for Saphia on the other side so she wouldn't have to ride on top. Akasha got out her scooter, put on her helmet, and ignored my reminders about her other gear. We hauled everything down the stairs, and out we went.
We went on our merry way, Akasha led the way in front of us, and Saphia started reading to me from her easy readers, Corduroy's Garden. In Florida fashion, it was hot, so we had all of our required refreshments such as ice-water. We were in a little bit of a hurry to get there, but I kept my promise to my doctor about not running, and just walked fast. Akasha scooted along, just ahead of us. Just before we got there, she bit the big one. There she was, laying on the groud, sitting on here butt, staring at her knee. We came up to her, and there she was with a bloody knee. Was I sympathetic. No. I did my best to console her before I did the "I told you so," bit. But, it wasn't much, so the poor girl was in pain, and there I was, telling her that next time she'd wear the rest of her gear, right?"
